http://simonsmind.livejournal.com/ simonsmind - LiveJournal.com Thu, 15 May 2008 22:08:56 GMT LiveJournal / LiveJournal.com simonsmind 15050800 personal http://simonsmind.livejournal.com/690.html Thu, 15 May 2008 22:08:56 GMT http://simonsmind.livejournal.com/690.html Day One has begun.&nbsp; There have&nbsp;been journals and there have been journals.&nbsp; This will be&nbsp;the one.&nbsp; Not going anywhere, ready to share, even works with all the media I prefer.&nbsp; Let's&nbsp;Do It!<br /><br />Today is <a href="http://www.bayareabikes.org/btwd/index.php">Bike to Work</a> day.&nbsp; Today also happens to be the warmest day of the year so far in&nbsp;the lovely Bay Area.&nbsp; Due to the heat index it is also the first <a href="http://www.sparetheair.org/">Spare the Air</a> day.&nbsp; All told I did my part for the Polar Bears and Narwhals by biking in today, as I do 2-3 times a week these days.<br /><br />The bike to work people had these energizer stations that were up and ready to give you goodies.&nbsp; The thought was nice, but the hot coffee was not an ideal fit.&nbsp; First I have no enjoyment from coffee, in fact would never drink it, and the hot part was a problem as it was 81 degrees at 8:15am as I rode past.&nbsp; Ice would have been more appropriate.&nbsp; I am going to ride home, and hope that ice is available, because checking the temp at the real-time weather station down the road it says 96 degrees.&nbsp; And I bet it will be warmer in a few hours! http://simonsmind.livejournal.com/690.html heat work bike exanimate public 0
